Our expected outputs (work started July 2023):
- Quantify potential of EO on reach, evenness, and impact of genetic diversity monitoring and conservation and propose steps required for use of data from spaceborne imaging spectroscopy missions (CHIME, SBG, EnMap, PRISMA) for genetic diversity monitoring (Scientific Paper 1 and brochure, infographic, press release)
- Propose workflow to incorporate EO data into genetic EBVs according to the EBV design guidelines from GEO BON and EuropaBON and demonstrate cases from existing data (Scientific Paper 2 and brochure, infographic, press release)
- Present results to policy-makers and public in outreach materials (materials under points 1 and 2, presentations to stakeholders, interactive interface on the ISSI team site)
- Coordinate with GEO BON and the COST action on Genomic Biodiversity Knowledge, G-BiKE (we have members in both organizations) to integrate outputs into policy, for example in key events such as meetings of the Ad Hoc Technical Expert Group on Digital Sequence Information on Genetic Resources of the Convention of Biological Diversity
