{"id":6,"date":"2025-08-26T07:50:02","date_gmt":"2025-08-26T07:50:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/teams.issibern.ch\/thermonuclearx-raybursts\/?page_id=6"},"modified":"2025-08-26T08:49:28","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T08:49:28","slug":"sample-page","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/teams.issibern.ch\/thermonuclearx-raybursts\/sample-page\/","title":{"rendered":"Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Dr. Prof. Zhaosheng Li<\/strong> (Xiangtan University, China) will lead the project and will contribute to burst data analysis which are observed mainly by Chinese telescopes, <em>HXMT<\/em>, <em>EP<\/em> , <em>SVOM<\/em>, and also public archived data by <em>NICER<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A\/Prof. Duncan Galloway<\/strong> (Monash University, Australia) will co-lead the project, and will contribute to the data reduction and analysis to support the observational component of the program; provide overview on the data management; and will contribute to the observation-model comparisons.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Prof. Nathalie Degenaar<\/strong> (Associate Professor at University of Amsterdam, Netherlands)<br \/>\nwill contribute in the observational studies of thermonuclear bursts and their interaction with<br \/>\naccretion flows &amp; outflows.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Prof. Helei Liu<\/strong> (Faculty, Xinjiang University, China) will perform theoretical simulations of<br \/>\ntype I X-ray burst, quiescent luminosity of accreting neutron star and crust cooling of soft<br \/>\nX-ray transients.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Thomas Russell<\/strong> (INAF-IASF Palermo, Italy) will contribute his expertise in radio observations and the link between accretion and ejection around accreting compact objects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Gaurava Jaisawal<\/strong> (Senior Researcher\/Associate Professor, DTU, Denmark) will carry out<br \/>\nX-ray observations, Spectral and timing studies of X-ray Bursts<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Akira Dohi<\/strong> (Postdoc, RIKEN) will probe the nature of accreting neutron stars through<br \/>\nnumerical modeling of X-ray bursts and analysis of X-ray burst data observed by NinjaSat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Yuri Cavecchi<\/strong> (UPC, Spain) will contribute his expertise on the theoretical understanding<br \/>\nof burst ignition and flame propagation and their connection to accretion and star properties,<br \/>\nusing the accumulated observational data to provide key tests of the burning models.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Sierra Casten<\/strong> (Grad student, MSU, USA) will contribute to the analysis and<br \/>\ninterpretation of data from NICER and other instruments, and will also perform numerical<br \/>\nsimulations with MESA to match burst observations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Amira Ayoyama<\/strong> (RIKEN, Japan) will contribute their expertise on acquisition, analysis<br \/>\nand interpretation of NinjaSAT data on thermonuclear bursts.<\/p>\n<p><em>The motivation for this international team followed the suggestion of the late Prof. Maurizio<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Falanga, who would have also been a key team member.
