Meetings

Our first meeting was in Bern Switzerland 23-27 March 2026 at ISSI. Team members presented a series of tutorial talks to develop a shared scientific foundation. This was followed by talks on team member contributions to the ISSI focused science topic. We then broke out into groups to decide case studies to work on over the next year. The breakout groups were structured around those with modeling vs. observational expertise. Plans were made for specific model runs as well as event selection for future data processing and modeling. We selected a case where pulsating aurora and the polar vortex overlap. The next step is to identify a case where the two are not overlapping. Observational data preparation and preliminary model runs will occupy activities for the rest of the year. Our second meeting will be April 5-9, 2027.
