Meetings

This team was selected already in 2020. After initially finding a good week for the first trip to ISSI in Bern the Covid-19 situation came up and the meeting had to be cancelled. Two more attempts were made to have a meeting, which were all thwarted by Covid. A virtual meeting was set up instead for one afternoon to at least have some form of face-to-face contact of the team.

Finally, the first meeting at ISSI took place in the week of 15 – 19 August 2022, which was a hybrid meeting (still partially because of Covid and some other limiting factors). Seven participants came to Bern: Maria, Henriette, Tomas, Ariel, Daniel, Francesco and Martin; with another five participants online: Lea, Diana, Charlotte, Guiseppe and Shutao. Directly from the start there was a very nice discussion taking place between the participants over the various presentations that were given.

And it is already over, the second meeting of this team, from 24 till 28 July 2023. The group of attendees in person was larger this time: Tomas Karlsson, Guiseppe ArrĂ³, Francesco Califano, Luis Preisser, Maria Hamrin, Lina Hadid, Diana Rojas-Castillo, Cyril Simon Wedlund, Martin Volwerk and Charlotte Goetz, and with a quick visit by Shahab Fatemi. And then on zoom Francesco Pucci signed in to join the discussions. Presentations by all were shown, on ongoing research: getting holes from turbulence in numerical simulations, mirror modes and magnetic holes at Mars and Venus, some BepiColombo data, Rosetta observations, etc. It became clear that there are a lot of collaborations springing from this meeting, to join observations of different missions or to combine observations and simulations.

The team is actively working on getting things published, as can be seen by the list of papers linket to this project.

A large part of this team has worked on another ISSI proposal, which was, unfortunately not funded this time, but we will make the necessary changes and resubmit in March 2024.

See you later ISSI!
