Brief Bio and expertise:

After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Physics, she took a Master’s and Doctoral degree at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE/Brazil) in the area of Space Geophysics. She, simultaneously, holds a civil servant position as Satellite Controller at INPE. She is an assistant professor at INPE’s postgraduates program and participates in the radiation belts research team at INPE (Brazil). In 2017 she was a sandwich PhD student at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center for a period of six months developing part of her Ph.D thesis using neural network techniques to identify relativistic electron losses observed in pitch angle distribution associated with EMIC waves in spectrograms.

Claudia Medeiros’ experience for this ISSI team lies in the technique application to identify wave-particle interactions.
